Gloucestershire Minibus Scheme Borrower Information

Joining the Gloucestershire Minibus Scheme (GMS) is the first step to hiring a minibus. Membership is renewed annually, and is currently free. The benefits of hiring a minibus through GMS are:

• Reduced minibus hire costs compared to standard minibus hire companies.
• Fully accessible minibuses are available for transporting disabled passengers.
• Free driver training.

How to join GMS as a borrower

All drivers that drive a minibus owned by another organisation need to register with GMS; this involves completing a driver registration and driver medical form. To join GMS you need to complete and send to us the following documents:

• Membership application form and charter (see downloads page)
• Driver application forms (see downloads page)
• Your organisation’s constitution and a copy of your latest accounts/financial statement (if applicable)

You also need a Section 19 Permit.

Once we have processed the application, we will send your GMS membership details and information about how to hire a minibus.

Minibus Drivers

All drivers of GMS minibuses must be registered with GMS, and are required to undergo MiDAS training. For further details please see the driver training page.
